After going over the transportation aspect of your road trip to Snoopy Island in Part 1,[a] you and I came up with the conclusion that if you rent a car to get there, you will have a more wholesome experience than any other option available.
Making as many stops as you can, allows you to turn the ride into a trip. One of the reasons why so, is the flexibility you are awarded for being in the driver’s seat of your trip, making the ride from Dubai to Snoopy Island a trip in itself.
Here are 5 essential stops that you should check out on your way to Snoopy Island to make your trip that much more amazing!
Ras Al Khor Road, Ras Al Khor – Emirate of Dubai
Located right outside of Dubai, Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary is a wetland reserve of global significance.
This reserve is a home for mammals, fish, reptiles, invertebrates, plants, and over 200 species of resident and migratory birds!
It is mainly known for its Greater Flamingos that are especially fun to watch during feeding time.
There are plenty of educational activities, workshops, and events you can sign up for prior to your stop.
You can also sign up for a free tour with a Protected Areas Guide, followed by a session to teach how to recognise different birds.

This desert park in Sharjah is an excellent destination for families, wanderers, and nature lovers of all ages.
It’s considered the first learning centre serving as a nature reserve in the UAE, offering a wealth of knowledge about various topics.
It was first established as a conservation centre for endangered flora and fauna in the region. Later, it turned into an exceptional edutainment.
There is a wildlife centre, natural history and botanical museum, breeding centre for endangered Arabian wildlife, botanical garden, Islamic garden, and a children’s farm at the desert park.
Sounds like fun? Sure it does!
Fujairah – Emirate of Fujairah
Specific-day markets are a common concept in many places worldwide, but this one is more like Friday Everyday Market.
On the main road to Fujairah town, surrounded by the Hajar mountains, lays the Friday Arabian Souq (market).
This is where you find locally grown and freshly picked fruits and vegetables, handmade pots, woven carpets, as well as many other items local to the region, heritage, and culture.
You especially want to pay a visit if you’ve never bargained before because haggling adds up to the charm of this traditional experience!
For other fun and excellent stops on the drive between Dubai and Snoopy Island, there are also Wadi Shis in Masafi and Al Bidya Mosque in Al Bidiyah, both in the Emirate of Fujairah.
Whether you decide to spend two hours or a whole day at each of these spots, you will have such a great time exploring both natural and historical aspects of the UAE.
